Jeffrey D. Wheeler
Mr. Wheeler practices intellectual property law with emphasis on patent prosecution, patent portfolio strategy and development, technology licensing, business counseling, and litigation support. Mr. Wheeler has extensive legal experience in both corporate and private practice environments. Prior to joining Beyer Law Group, Mr. Wheeler served for over 15 years as in-house patent counsel at several well known technology companies. His positions included Senior Attorney at Hewlett-Packard Company, Director of Intellectual Property at Broadcom Corporation, and Senior Director of Patent Operations at Dolby Labs. He also has also been in private practice at the law firms of McHale & Slavin; Beyer, Weaver & Thomas; and McAndrews, Held & Malloy.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Wheeler worked as an electrical engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company and Allison Transmissions. His technical and legal experience includes semiconductor devices, electronics and telecommunications, audio & video systems, and software development. While at Hughes, Mr. Wheeler also served as US weapons inspector in Russia to monitor nuclear treaty devices
Mr. Wheeler is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney and member of the State Bars of California, Florida, and Illinois. He is also a registered solicitor in England and UK territories.
